About Our Chapter
The Huron County Chapter of OGS, founded in 1976, is dedicated to furthering quality genealogical and family history research in Huron County. To achieve this goal, the chapter concentrates on education and records preservation.

• offers occasional genealogy classes for both the beginning and intermediate
researcher
• advises county 4-H members on genealogical projects for the Huron County Fair.
• sponsors special workshops and lectures
• provides a variety of speakers and programs at monthly meetings
• organizes library research trips
• purchases local history items for area research libraries, especially the Norwalk
Public Library and the Firelands Historical Research Center
In addition, members are willing to share their knowledge and to assist other members with difficult problems or stumbling blocks.
