Membership
     The membership year runs from January 1 to December 31.  Anyone who joins after October 1 in a calendar year will be a member through the next membership year.

     All regular meetings are open to the public and are held at the Firelands Historical Society Meeting Room, 9 Case Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio, unless otherwise announced.

     All regular meetings are held on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. The April meeting is the annual awards dinner, and there is no meeting in December.

Membership Benefits
     • A quarterly newsletter, Huron County Kinologist, which contains news, research,
         extractions, articles of local interest, queries, and much more.
​     • Members who provide an email address on their membership application form will
         receive 
the newsletter, as well as notices of all meetings and events by email.
     • Access to our Ancestor File, which houses surname cards and pedigree charts.
     • Free instructive lectures at our monthly meetings. 
     • Free admission to the Firelands Historical Society Museum and their research
         center, the Laning-Young Research Library, during their open hours.
     • Research and copy services via U. S. mail.
     • Submit a query to be published in the Huron County Kinologist.
     • Option to join First Families of Huron County, which includes Pioneers, Settlers,
         Builders, and Century.
     • Option to join Civil War Families of Huron County, which includes all those who
         who served in the Civil War and lived in Huron County at some point in their lives.
     • Option to join Deceased Military Veteran Families of Huron County, which 
         identifies and honors persons who served in the military and who lived in
​         Huron County at some point in their lives.

Dues
     Single Membership – $15.00
     Joint Membership – $20.00
     Student Membership (under age 18) – $3.00
     Life Membership
          Single – $200.00 (or $20.00/year for 10 years)
          Joint – $300.00 (or $30.00/year for 10 years)

     Make checks payable to: Huron County Chapter, OGS.

     Mail your completed MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION form and your check to:

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
     When renewing membership, all current members are expected to complete and submit a MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION form with payment, so we can verify and/or up-date your contact information and surnames annually.

     Renewing members should submit their application form and payment before January 1 for that year's dues.
​LIFE MEMBERSHIP
     You can choose to become a Life Member by selecting that option on the regular MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION form.  After you become a Life Member, you need to update your membership information every year by using the LIFE MEMBERSHIP UPDATE form.
