First Families of Huron County has four categories. Applicants must be able to prove that their ancestor(s) lived in Huron County in one of the following:
Pioneer - by 31 December 1830
Settler - by 31 December 1850
Builder - by 31 December 1870
Century - 100 years prior to the present year
If you prove your ancestor in one category and discover later that they arrived in Huron County at an earlier date, you may submit an application for the earlier category.
