​Charles Gilbert Austin
Biography

Charles Gilbert AUSTIN was born 16 June 1874, the son of Agnes ROWLAND and Julius AUSTIN at Wakeman, Ohio.  He married Verta PEOPLES at Cleveland, Ohio, on 16 June 1904.  They had no children. "Charlie" operated a barber shop and sign painting business at his home on Pleasant Street in Wakeman and was known to entertain his customers with his ukelele.  He died 17 April 1959 of pulmonary edema and congestive heart failure. The Wakeman Public Library is now on that property.
