First Families of Huron County and Erie County, Ohio
First Families of Huron County and Erie County identifies and honors the memory of the early pioneers, settlers, and builders of these counties. In doing so, we hope to make known the lasting mark they made on these counties by recognizing and honoring their descendants.
First Families has four categories. Applicants must be able to prove that their ancestor(s) lived in Huron County or Erie County in one of the following:
Pioneer - by 31 December 1830
Settler - by 31 December 1850
Builder - by 31 December 1870
Century - 100 years prior to the present year
If you prove your ancestor in one category and discover later that they arrived in Huron County or Erie County at an earlier date, you may submit an application for the earlier category.
