Mead - White - Reynolds - Marble Families

Ancestor Story Submitted by Robert O. Smith
First Families of Huron County Member #53

AMOS MEAD and his wife, CAROLINE WHITE, came from Dutchess County, New York, in 1831 to settle on land he bought from his father, Matthew Mead, who was an original "Sufferer" from Connecticut. They were great-great grandparents.

HENRY REYNOLDS and his wife, HARRIET P. MARBLE, with their children came from Cattaraugus County, New York, in 1836 to settle in Greenwich Township, Huron County, Ohio. Henry was a Doctor, and his three sons followed in his footsteps.

WILLIAM B. REYNOLDS, son of HENRY AND HARRIET (MARBLE) REYNOLDS married in 1858 SARAH A. SUTTON, daughter of ARANSON AND EMELINE SUTTON. Sarah was born in Huron County in 1837. They moved to Siam, Seneca County, Ohio, where William had his practice. He died in 1879, and she died in 1885 leaving several small children. They were great-grandparents.
